Ecology Research

Research in ecology

Current research in ecology includes work by biology graduate student Eric Sodja to understand how parasite aggregation shapes population dynamics and evolution, the research by Zoe Plzak on the effects of the parasitic fly Philornis on the endangered Darwin's finches in the Galapagos, work in collaboration with Peter Adler (no relation, Utah State University) to develop general framework for modeling plant-mutualist-pathogen interactions, and a somewhat deranged project with a series of undergraduates to look at the classical musical canon, as expressed through orchestral performances over the last century, from the perspective of community ecology.
